Race For Water | The foundation

Following the first Race for Water Odyssey, an expedition launched by the Foundation in 2015 to take the first global inventory of ocean plastic pollution, the findings are stark : the plastic pollution is everywhere. There is no 7th continent, no plastic island, but a soup of plastic waste floating in the "gyres". Only a tiny fraction remains visible on the surface. The majority has sunk or fragmented into infinitesimal pieces. Large-scale ocean clean-up is therefore unrealistic. Only land-based solutions can effectively combat this scourge of the 21st century.

Comment ? Firstly, by encouraging everyone to reduce their plastic waste and by stimulating recycling. But also by proposing new models of waste management thanks to a technology capable of transforming plastic waste into electricity.
